After seven years with North Shore Swimming, Jeff Ely was recently named new head coach of the Sachem Swim Club.
During his time with the program, North Shore had tremendous success, with their best performances at Relay Carnival and Counties in recent memory, while also producing many championship meet qualifiers, from Silvers to Senior Nationals.
Ely has also spent time coaching the Ward Melville High School.
Ely swam for the Retriever Aquatic Club in Maryland growing up, and was a JO champion, Zone finalist and Junior Nationals qualifier.
He attended Syracuse University, where he was a member of the swim team, specializing in the backstroke and butterfly events and qualifying for finals at the Big East Championships.
Ely is entering his 14th year as a special education teacher at Ward Melville, and he and his family are Sachem residents.
