It was a day of firsts for many members of the Sachem North girls varsity lacrosse team. A season-high 11 girls registered goals and an additional three found the score sheet for Sachem which breezed past Copiague, 17-1, on Tuesday at Walter C O’Connell High school.
The Arrows offense flexed its muscle early an often. Freshman Madison Hoffer started the scoring for Sachem just 54 seconds into the game. She would finish with career highs in goals with three and points with four.
First career varsity goals we registered by senior Sam Raulli, senior Taylor Ahmed, freshman Morgan Slater, freshman Kelly Abrams, sophomore Monica Grismer, junior Colleen Curran, and senior Amanda Gudia.
Guida had two goals along with senior Frannie Barilla, who recorded her first career multi-goal game.
Junior Jessica Mazliah added six assists running her season total to 39, which currently is tied for the lead in Suffolk County.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Lynch and Junior Caila Hendrickson combined for four saves to hold Copiague to a season low one goal.
Sachem returns to action Friday night at Middle County.
