A busload of Sachem parents, students and some representatives from the teacher’s association drove to Albany Thursday morning to lobby politicians about Sachem’s low state aid totals.
The trip was organized by Sachem’s Legislative Committee.
Folks on the trip are expected to meet with a number of state officials, including Sen. Lee Zeldin, Assemblyman Al Graf, Sen. Phil Boyle, and Sen. John Flanagan, among a handful of others.
The is not the first time members of the Sachem Family have driven to Albany for the same purpose. Two years ago multiple buses loaded with teachers and school officials stormed the capital and had meetings throughout the day with their representatives.
We’ll have updates about their journey later on, plus updates throughout the day @SachemSchools on Twitter. Use #SachemLobby to talk about the trip.
