It’s that time. The one where you knew Kristen Doherty would emerge as a threat on the college basketball scene.
The junior at Boston College leads the team in scoring and steals and is quickly gaining stock in the Atlantic Coast Conference. For the girl that took Sachem East to a state title and graduated as one of the most prolific athletes in Sachem’s strong girls basketball history, it’s no surprise.
There was an insightful piece about her game on the B.C. website today, specifically targeting her leadership role, which has grown into her being a co-captain this season.
“I come to practice every day and give 100 percent,” Doherty told GoEagles.com. “I really think it’s contagious when you come with good energy and are excited to be there. Our team is really close so if somebody has good energy, we feed off that and have great practices, which leads to great games.”
