Due to the impending winter storm scheduled to hit the northeast, Sachem Schools has officially cancelled all after school and evening activities on Friday and all district activities on Saturday, according to Sachem Superintendent James Nolan.
The cancellations for Friday include PM Childcare.
The list of activities that are being postponed include Sachem North’s production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” as well as the Program Day basketball event and breast cancer fundraiser at Sachem East on Saturday.
The Program Day/Breast Cancer event has already been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10 and all activities will take place at the originally scheduled times.
The Friday and Saturday showing of “Legally Blonde” will be pushed back to next Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb. 16. Please note that the Thursday and premier showing of “Legally Blonde” is still going on as originally scheduled.
As of this afternoon there have been no formal announcements regarding the Section XI wrestling tournament which is scheduled to take place on Sunday and Monday at Hofstra University.
The district will also be working to continually monitor weather conditions for any early dismissal potential for Friday. Once makeup times have been released regarding the aforementioned events, Sachem Schools will provide updates on all of its platforms to keep the community informed.
