The Sachem community is hosting a clothing drive and fundraiser to help raise funds for Nicholas Franzi, a student at Sachem High School North, who suffers from chronic mylogenous leukemia (CML).
On October 20, the community will host a clothing drive at the high school. Every pound will help raise funds for a great cause.
Please donated your unwanted:
- Clothes and shoes – any condition and size
- Toys – in boxes, no plastic bags
- Curtains, towels, blankets and pillows
According to BeTheMatchFoundation.org, his life changed when he was diagnosed with CML in January of 2010. CML is a relatively uncommon type of cancer. Mostly found in adults, it is rarely seen in children with only about 50 children in the US diagnosed per year, according to the organization.
There will also be a bake sale sponsored by the Sachem Cares committee at the clothing drive. All baked goods will be $1 with all proceeds going to the Nicholas Franzi Foundation.
