A Sachem middle school student at Sagamore has arranged a meet and greet for veterans this Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post located at 540 College Road in Farmingville, N.Y.
Ashley Modafferi, 11, is a member a Girl Scout with Troop 244 of Suffolk County. She is working on her Bronze Award, which is to make the community aware of its local veterans.
“I want veterans to know that people appreciate them and we are thankful for what they have done in the past and do for us now.”
Please note that you can bring any old cell phones that you no longer use so they can help troops abroad to stay in contact with their loved ones.
