The awards continue to pile up for Sachem East’s Katie Trombetta. The same week she was named a field hockey All-American, she was also named Newsday’s Long Island Player of the Year.
“It’s been a great year, but I know I haven’t reached my potential yet,” Trombetta told Newsday.
We’ve listed Trombetta’s career successes many times, but it never gets old:
- Two-time All-American
- Two-time New York State champion
- Three-time All-Long Island selection
- Selected to USA U-17 squad
- Led Long Island in scoring this year with 40 points (25 goals)
- Verbally committed to play at University of Michigan
