Thanks to Carol Burns, a secretary in Sachem Superintendent’s James Nolan’s office, I’m in possession of dozens of old copies of “Sachem News,” a publication formerly published by Sachem’s Board of Education.
The first issue was printed in Nov. 1957 and many issues after that chronicle the early stages of development in the Sachem Central School District.
Through the coming months, I’ll be dissecting every page and chronicling important data and facts to string together tons of historical key points from Sachem’s past.
