Update 2: Later in the afternoon on Thursday, Section XI made more changes to the playoff schedule. That information is reflected below.
Specifically, Sachem East’s football playoff game originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Northport will be played on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The time for the Sachem East boys volleyball playoff match on Friday is now set for 6 p.m.
Update 1: As a result of the latest storm and school cancellations, Section XI has changed its playoff schedule for the third time in two weeks.
All playoff games originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8 have been pushed back to Friday, Nov. 9, with the exception for the Sachem North boys volleyball team, who will still play on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Here’s the complete breakdown for Sachem’s teams:
Boys Soccer
- No. 12 Sachem North will travel to No. 5 Newfield for their game on Friday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
- No. 10 Sachem East will travel to No. 7 Hills West for their game on Friday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
Girls Soccer
- No. 12 Sachem North will travel to No. 4 Ward Melville for their quarterfinal game on Friday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
- No. 5 Sachem North will travel to No. 4 Smithtown East on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m.
- No. 2 Sachem East will host the winner of No. 7 Smithtown West-No. 10 Walt Whitman game. Sachem’s contest is slotted for Friday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.
Girls Volleyball
- No. 8 Sachem East will host No. 9 Connetquot on Friday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
- No. 1 Sachem East will host the winner of No. 8 Comsewogue-No. 9 West Islip on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.
- No. 2 Sachem North will host No. 7 Bay Shore in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
- No. 6 Sachem East will travel to No. 3 Northport on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m.
- As mentioned on Tuesday, the Section XI cross country state qualifier was cancelled. Sachem did not have any representatives listed on a participant list released by the county. READ MORE.
- County swimming and diving championships are Saturday, Nov. 10 at Suffolk County Community College- Brentwood. Division is at 11 a.m. and swimming is at 2 p.m.
