The Sachem Education Foundation is proud to announce its official launch as a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing students’ educational experiences in the Sachem Central School District.
The foundation aims to provide resources and opportunities that support innovative programs and initiatives beyond the traditional classroom experience.
The Sachem Education Foundation (SEF) was established by community leaders, educators, and parents who recognize the need for additional funding to support the district’s students and evolving educational needs. The foundation will focus on funding projects and programs that promote academic excellence, foster creativity, and encourage student engagement.
“This is another important step for our school community, and we are laser-focused on student opportunity when students need it most,” said Chris R. Vaccaro, ’04, President and Founder of the Sachem Education Foundation. “Our goal is to provide resources that will enhance the educational experience and ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. We invite the entire community to join us in supporting this foundation. Together, we can significantly impact the lives of our students and help shape the future of education in our district.”
The foundation’s key initiatives include:
Grant Programs for Teachers: Providing grants to teachers for innovative classroom projects and professional development opportunities. Student
Enrichment Programs: Funding extracurricular activities, arts programs, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiatives.
Technology and Infrastructure: Supporting the acquisition of modern technology and infrastructure improvements to create a better learning environment. The SEF will host fundraising events, community outreach programs, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations to secure the necessary funds for these initiatives.
The foundation’s first major event, the Inaugural Sachem Gala for Education, will occur in March 2025. The 501c3 is not operated through the school district but through the community.
