Kristen Bowes Burke ’94 is one of our finest Sachem alumni. The Harvard and Fordham graduate has the rare honor of being inducted into the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame and the Sachem Hall of Honor. For these reasons and more, she was this year’s commencement speaker at Sachem North.
Each year, the Sachem Alumni Association suggests to the administration a commencement speaker who is an alumnus with incredible career success and has a story worth sharing.
Bowes Burke was a three-sport athlete who helped lead Sachem to a New York State soccer championship before playing and starting on the team at Harvard for four years.
Professionally, she was an assistant district attorney at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in the rackets bureau. She was later associate general counsel for The City University of New York and is now general counsel at Mercy University.
Most importantly, she never forgot where she came from.
