The Sachem Central School District will not make a formal decision about whether or not there will be school on Monday, Nov. 5 until late afternoon on Sunday.
“We still have buildings without electric, residents and staff members without electric, and many roads that are inaccessible,” said Sachem Superintendent James Nolan. ”We will not make a decision until late afternoon on Sunday.”
The school district, which experienced five days off due to Hurricane Sandy this past week, will continue to keep the community informed as soon as information becomes available.
Tuesday, Nov. 6 – election day – is scheduled as a staff development day in Sachem, but students do not attend classes that day.
