What a season it’s been so far for Sachem East baseball alumni.
Rafe Schlesinger (Miami), Ty Acker (George Washington) and Ryan Micheli (Stony Brook) all played Division I baseball this week, making for a proud Sachem moment.
Not many teams in Suffolk County have one Division I student-athlete in their alumni pool, let alone three being on the field in the same week.
Opponents are scoreless against Schlesinger, who has pitched 2.1 innings across three games in his freshman campaign. He walked a runner and recorded a 5-4-3 double play in the seventh inning of a win over Harvard on Saturday.
Miami coach Gino DiMare said Schlesinger has been impressive and doesn’t, “back down from any challenges.”
Acker, a freshman, is 1-for-5 at the plate in three games. Micheli, a sophomore, has one RBI in one game.
