Sachem alum Doug Smith has won re-election to his seat in the New York State Assembly.
The republication politician, who first won his seat in 2018, beat democratic opponent Fred Ianacci by a large margin.
“WE WON with more than a 17,000 vote lead!” Smith wrote on Facebook. “THANK YOU!! It is my honor to continue to serve you!”
Smith had 67% of the vote compared to Ianacci’s 33%.
