Boothe Leads Sachem East to Conference Wins
On Tuesday, Dec. 19, Sachem East beat William Floyd, 80-56. Chris Boothe had 26 points and Ryan Sheehy added 14 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists in the conference opener.
On Friday, Dec. 22, in the battle of the Sachem game, East won, 54-42. Anthony Caggiano and Boothe scored 11 each. Sheehy had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Sachem North Girls Hoops Out to Hot Start
On Tuesday, Dec. 19, Sachem North girls basketball beat Brentwood, 57-54. Lisa Galante had 25 points including hitting a three-pointer with 30 seconds left in overtime to put Sachem up by two. Annie Kennan had 27 points and 14 rebounds and she also hit a key three pointer in the fourth quarter.
On Thursday, Dec. 21 North beat East on the girls side, 38-33. Annie Keenan had 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals and Amanda Steinberg added 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals to lead North to its second conference win.
Doherty Gets First Win Against Floyd
Sachem East beat William Floyd, 51-15. Alyssa Signor had 17 points including five three pointers to help Sachem East get its first League I victory. The win was also the first for rookie varsity coach and Sachem alum, Kristen Doherty. Read more about the win here!
Vollbehr Sparks Sachem North to Open League Play
Sachem North beat Walt Whitman, 51-25. Pins by Erich Vollbehr, Matt Keegan, Cameron Lee, Marquez Rhodes led Sachem to its first conference win
The Flaming Arrows also beat Northport in a close match, 36-28. Pins by Vollbehr, Michael Barker led Sachem.
Budke and Davis Push Sachem to Swim Win
The Sachem Swim Team beat Central Islip on Monday, Dec. 18. Vincent Budke won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.8 seconds and the 100-backstroke in 1:01.9. Avery Davis won the 1-meter diving with a 209.32 and 100-breaststroke in 1:10.9.
Beauchamp Leads Sachem to Fifth Win
The Sachem boys bowling squad beat Pat Med, 2-1, on Dec. 21. Liam Beauchamp rolled a 232 in the first game of a 642 series to push Sachem to 5-1 record.
Kamping Rolls 244, Sachem Tops Smithtown
Kristine Kamping rolled a 244 in the second game of a 590 series and Shannon Darby rolled a 225 in the first game of a 550 series against Smithtown in Sachem’s first victory of the year for the girls bowling team.
Sachem North Cheer Wins At Comsewogue Meet
The Flaming Arrows took first place at the Comsewogue meet on Dec. 16 and it was the first varsity coaching victory for Sachem alum, Danielle Gresalfi.
