Sachem Golf Ready for Playoff Run: The Sachem boys golf team finished the regular season 8-2 and second place in League I. The Flaming Arrows have qualified for the Suffolk County golf tournament, which will take place at Rock Hill Country Club on October 31. The league tournament is coming up this Tuesday at Rock Hill also, and this will be to determine who goes to the counties playing as an individual.
Bounce Back Season for SNGVB: The Sachem North girl’s varsity volleyball team was 1-13 in 2016, but has bounced back with a resurgence that has people turning heads in Suffolk County. The Flaming Arrows are 7-5 this season and have already clinched a berth in the Section XI playoffs, which will begin on Monday, October 30.
Sachem East Volleyball Rolls On: Across the district, Sachem East volleyball has put together one of the top seasons in Suffolk County this year. With an 11-3 record, the Arrows will be one of the top teams in the upcoming Section XI tournament.
Aponte Rushes for 1,000: Sachem North senior Alezandro Aponte, who carried 37 times for 181 yards and a touchdown in a 34-7 loss against Lindenhurst on Friday, now has 1,105 career rushing yards, good enough to rank No. 22 all-time in Sachem history.
Playoffs! The girls and boys soccer playoffs, as well as field hockey, football, swimming & diving, cross country and boys volleyball tournaments are all either underway or about to begin soon. Good luck to all Sachem student-athletes competing!
Senior Nights Capture Heart, Spirit: Thank you to every Sachem senior student-athlete who is playing their final fall season in the coming weeks. There have been countless memories made during all of their athletic careers and we wish them well in the future.
