Sachem North Interact Club Continues Volunteerism

It’s been a busy school year for the Sachem North Interact Club.

In February, they had a Pulsera Sale and raised money for impoverished artisans in Nicaragua, among many social and educational programs in their communities.

They raised nearly $4,000, which has never been accomplished by the 1,800 schools the Pulsera Project has been in involved with over the past eight years.

Also, the Interact Club has been raising money for the March of Dimes in an effort to end prematurity, birth defects and to promote healthy pregnancies.

They have raised $2,000 this year and more than $20,000 over the past seven years. The club has made a commitment to this cause and is dedicated to helping the fight against prematurity.

And lastly, in honor of Earth Day, the Interact Club helped clean up Lake Ronkonkoma, which they do each year in September and April.

Students removed trash from the beach and shore of the lake. The kids worked really hard to beautify the community in which they live.
