Romero Britto, who does portraits for the stars, including royalty and dignitaries, and has painted the portrait of Madonna, Michael Jackson, the Queen of England, among others, recently completed a portrait of Sachem alum Louis Gregory, better known as Uncle Louie.

“Britto is one of the most successful artists in the world,” Gregory said. “He is synonymous with Miami and has multiple exhibits in the Louvre.”

Gregory, who lives in South Florida, is portrayed in Britto’s pop-art brilliance.

Britto has licensed his work to a number of high profile individuals and companies around the world; everything from Major League Baseball to Rolls Royce and Disney.

“Having crossed paths in the business world and fostered a professional relationship for many years, I am blessed to call Romero a friend,” Gregory said. “When he offered to paint a portrait of my wife and I to commemorate my anniversary, I was ecstatic.”

Gregory said he showed it to friend and wrestling star Bill Goldberg, who liked the glitter, and rapper Eric B., who was captivated by the work.

“I am so very proud to look at it and see me and my beautiful wife every day,” he said.
