Brittany Christiansen had one heck of a week at Slippery Rock University. The Sachem East alum set a school record in the weight throw and a season-best toss in the shot put at a meet last week at West Virginia and was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week and Slippery Rock Female Athlete of the Week.
A junior at Slippery Rock, Christiansen won the weight throw competition in a field of 23 throwers at West Virginia with a toss of 15.79 meters (51′ 9.75″), breaking the record of 15.41 meters set in 2012, according to a release from the school.
She also took second in the shot put out of 25 athletes with a throw of 11.94 meters (39′ 2.25″), which ranks her third among all throwers in the PSAC this season.
