Sachem North alum and Michigan sophomore goaltender Gerald Logan will miss the entire 2014 lacrosse season with a shoulder labrum tear that required surgery, according to a post on the University of Michigan’s athletic website.
An All-ECAC Rookie Team selection last season, as well as the team’s MVP, Logan ranked second in the NCAA with 211 saves. He had double-digit save totals in 13 of 14 games and a 56.3 save percentage, according to a team release.
“We’re obviously going to miss Gerald on the field this season, but our first priority is always the long-term health and welfare of our student-athletes. We expect him back to 100 percent by next fall,” said head coach John Paul, in a statement. “We have full confidence in Robbie as our starter. He had a great fall where he gained valuable experience against Notre Dame, and he has been preparing himself for this role for a few months now.”
