After last week’s lost at William Floyd, Sachem East is expecting to right its ship and stay the course in Suffolk County’s Division I.
On Saturday, Sachem (1-1) will host Commack (1-1) for homecoming at 6 p.m. For those in attendance, don’t expect there to just be fireworks following the game. With Steven Casali going against a vanilla Cougars defense, he’ll likely have 150-plus yards and multiple touchdowns.
Commack won its opening game against Patchogue-Medford, but surrendered 42 points last week to a stunningly talented Connetquot squad that is still 3-0.
Like Sachem East, Commack will throw the ball. Their quarterback Ryan Heisman has attempted 20-plus passes in each of their first two contests. Paulie Maline is their main receiving threat, while John Donavan is the ace in the backfield.
For Sachem, look for the quarterback-receiver tandem of Danny Wolff and Brian Balsalmo to catch a spark tonight. That is, however, if it doesn’t start to rain early. There is a 30 percent chance of showers around 7-8 p.m. with increased percentages later in the evening.
Check Sachem Report later tonight for coverage of all the action on homecoming.
