Through the national mullet championship, a rising third grader at Wenonah Elementary School is helping raise awareness and funds for Jared Allen’s Homes For Wounded Warriors.
Hunter Vaccaro, 8, of Lake Grove, is entered into the mullet championship and hoping for your vote and support to get out of the first round. Voting is open from July 12-17.
“The soldiers who serve our country and get hurt deserve to live better lives,” he said. “If they helped our country, we should help them.”
Vaccaro named his mullet “Hot Steel,” and has been growing it for the last 18 months. You can read a narrative from him on the his mullet profile.
Jared Allen’s nonprofit is dedicated to providing critically injured United States military veterans with injury-specific, accessible, and mortgage-free homes
