Sachem North’s Euro Challenge team accepted the challenge of solving the climate crisis in Finland, and recommended policies to allow this nation to “go green.” They successfully gained National Semifinalist recognition for their effort.
They made 15-minute presentations to judges over two rounds, each followed by difficult 10 minute question and answer sessions where they defended their policy recommendations, and discussed economic data.
The Euro Challenge is an international competition that was launched in 2006, focused on European economic and monetary policy, giving participants the opportunity to learn about the euro, the single market, and other important concepts central to the European Union and macro/microeconomics. Schools from across the country competed in nine regional brackets.
