In honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Sachem North rededicated its existing memorial in front of the school.
Originally built in 2014 as part of the Freshman Class Legacy Project, the monument features a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.
This year’s refurbishments saw the replacement of the existing towers with marble towers and new pavers and lighting upgrades.
This was made possible by a donation from Continental Marble and Tile of Ronkonkoma.
The Sachem community lost 24 people from its community on the 9/11 attacks and they will always be remembered.
