In a must-win situation, Sachem North beat Bay Shore at home on senior night.
The Flaming Arrows (4-1) are one step closer to clinching a playoff berth in this shortened spring season after beating Bay Shore, 35-14.
Cam Lee was the difference maker, scoring four touchdowns and recording one interception. He scored on runs of 4, 38 and 9 yards and caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Chris Kelly. He had 9 carries for 78 yards and 2 receptions for 32 yards.
“We knew this week if we didn’t win, our season would be over,” said Lee. “[Coach] Caputo made that a theme all week. We had to go out and play a full game. We hadn’t played a full game yet. Today I think we did a pretty good job of it.”
Jalen Duvall scored on a 60-yard kick return and led Sachem on defense with seven tackles and one interception.
“That’s what I’m capable of doing,” said Duvall. “That pick helped seal the game for us.”
Vin Giordano, who played a full game after battling a high ankle sprain for the last month, had seven tackles. Nick Giorgi had five tackles and two sacks. Tyler Hall had 13 carries for 74 yards.
Once the rest of the Suffolk County week five games are played, the playoff brackets will be set. Sachem Report will have all details is it becomes available.
