Remember these names … they’ll be the face of Sachem football in just a few years
Sachem’s 10-year-old youth football squad did it again.
The youth Arrows came from behind to beat Longwood in the Suffolk County championship and won, 12-6.
Trailing 6-0 at halftime, Sean Hannigan scored late in the third quarter to tie the game at 6.
In the fourth quarter Sachem’s offensive line led by James Chirichella, Luke Watson, Vito DePalo, Nick Piezzo, Brayden Sigler, Ty Passanisi and Ryan Lamb took over the game. Running back Lucas Bouchard scored the go-ahead touchdown with five minutes left in the contest.
Quarterback Luke LaRocca was steady as always completing 5 of 7 passes for 72 yards.
The defense was led by linebackers LaRocca, Hannigan, Gavin Nuzzi, Marcelino Ducasse, Passanisi and linemen Watson, Dwayne Dumpson, Chirichella, Sigler, and Piezzo. They held the Longwood running game to under 100 yards.
Longwood was also held to zero passing yards thanks to a secondary that includes Lucas Bouchard, Cole Jacob, Nick Barone, and Jaidon Moore.
Sachem has finished undefeated for two straight years and are 29-0-1 over the last three seasons.
Sachem is coached by head coach Vinnie Hannigan and assistants Jim LaRocca, Jake LaRocca, Paul Bouchard, Vito DePalo, Dan Watson and Ron Chirichella.
