Another day, another athletic feat for one of Sachem’s proudest alums
You’ve read countless times before about Maria Michta-Coffey’s athletic accomplishments. She’s the best female racewalker in American history. She’s a two-time Olympian. She is in multiple halls of fame.
But her latest feat is unique because it comes after giving birth to her daughter Lilliana just a few months ago. Michta-Coffey competed at the 20K Women’s Racewalk World Championships in Qatar this past week and had one of the best finishes of her career.
She placed No. 35 in the world in a time of 1 hour, 46 minutes and 2 seconds.
