Wild lacrosse ride continues for Sachem alum who gets drafted by third league
If the Lizards of the MLL and Chrome of the PLL weren’t enough, Sachem alum Connor Farrell was just selected by the Riptide of the NLL too.
The Long Island based pro indoor lacrosse team will play its games at the Nassau Coliseum and open the season on December 7 on the road. Their home opener will be December 28. The Riptide are an expansion team.
Farrell has spent the last few months gaining notoriety in the inaugural season of the Premier Lacrosse League as one of the toughest face-off specialists in the game. He was named as a nominee for Rookie of the Year, as well as a nominee for the league’s sportsmanship award.
Farrell, who played football and lacrosse at both Sachem East and LIU Post, gained the “Thor” nickname thanks to his long blonde locks and ferocious playing style. He has been featured on social media and traditional media frequently since being drafted by the Chrome.
With the 24th overall pick, we'd like to welcome @ConnorFarrell41 home to Long Island!!#GetPulledIn
