Latest sporting endeavor to support new foundation hits court at Sachem
Matt DiStefano will be coaching this fall with his Sachem North volleyball squad. He gets to do what he loves for his community.
The community and the program will be supporting him even more as the JV and varsity contests on Thursday, September 5 are played in support of his Dezy Strong Foundation. Sachem East and Sachem North will square off at Sachem North: JV at 4 p.m. and varsity at 5:45 p.m.
DiStefano was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and has rallied to make positive traction from his experience by launching a foundation, posting daily about his battle on social media, hosting a majorly successful golf outing and mapping out a future where volleyball can help stimulate awareness and fundraising.
