Sachem alum heads north for latest football move
The Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League have signed Sachem alum Dalton Crossan, according to a transaction update on the club’s website.
Crossan, who won the Hansen Award as the top football player in Suffolk County while playing at Sachem North, went on to star at New Hampshire before signing professional contracts with the Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.
With the Colts in 2017 he saw action in one pre-season game before being placed on the injured reserve list. He was cut by the Bucs during training camp in 2018.
This move will make him the first Sachem alum to play in the CFL.
The Redblacks open their season on June 15 on the road in Calgary.
