Flaming Arrows pay tribute to military
A true show of patriotism was on display at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium on Friday night as Sachem North football hosted a “Salute to Service” game, honoring retired and active military personnel.
The evening began with the Lt. Michael Murphy Naval Sea Cadets presenting the colors during the National Anthem, which was performed by three Sachem students.
Sachem alum Trent Crossan, a senior captain on the football team at Lafayette College and a member of the school’s ROTC program, as well as Sachem athletic trainer Mike Wulforst, an Army veteran, both served as honorary captains.
During halftime a number of veterans and active military personnel were recognized for their service. The Patriot Guard Riders also showed their support by riding around the track with American flags.
