LIC winning QB gets leadership nod for senior year at collegiate level
Trent Crossan will be known for three things at Sachem: his game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of the 2013 Class I Long Island championship, his record-setting eight-touchdown performance against Bay Shore and his leadership abilities.
Crossan, a defensive back, has played 28 games over the last three seasons at Lafayette College and has been named as a team captain during his upcoming senior season.
He had a career-year in 2017 with 50 tackles and one interception. He was named Most Improved Player and earned CoSIDA Academic-All District II honors as well as Academic All-Patriot League.
A member of Lafayette’s ROTC program, Crossan balances a rigorous course load in his economics major, has his goals set on serving our country in some capacity upon graduation and has now been anointed as a leader of the football program.
At Sachem he was an All-Long Island selection and Team MVP his senior year, as well Offensive MVP of the Long Island championship game. He attended Suffield Academy for one post-graduate season and was named All-New England Prep during a season he compiled 952 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns.
His older brother Dalton, also a Sachem alum, is a running back on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
