Historic day for Sachem student embarking on professional soccer career
Imagine being a freshman at Sachem North and being the second youngest player to sign a Major League Soccer contract. That’s what Lake Grove native, Joe Scally, just did!
Scally, 15, who played JV soccer at Sachem North as a seventh grader, is one of the top players in the NYCFC academy, primed to play on the U-17 U.S. Men’s Soccer Team and has a bright future ahead.
Sachem has never had an alumnus play Major League Soccer, but a handful of players did play overseas in Europe and South America.
