Two volleyball players from Sachem North have committed to play at Lewis University in Romeoville,Ill.
Lewis has one of the top men’s volleyball programs in the nation and are currently riding a 12-match win streak this season.
Alec Lehnert and Connor Pallman have both officially committed to the team and will both be scholarship players at the university.
Pallmann ranks second all-time in Sachem history in kills, behind only the great Dylan Missry.
He was a first team All-Long Island selection this season, second-team as a junior, as well as two-time All-County and All-Tournament.
“Connor is an explosive player that has been the best offensive player in Suffolk County over the last two years,” said Sachem North head volleyball coach, Matt Rivera. “At the next level he has incredible potential to be one of the top players in the country.”
Lehnert led the team in hitting percentage (.395) and blocks (31), and has been All-County, All-Tournament and a New York State Scholar-Athlete the last two seasons.
“Alec has a special combination of size, leadership ability and a high volleyball IQ,” said Rivera. “The success and positive impact he has had at Sachem will surely continue at the collegiate level.”
