Sachem East had two student-athletes compete at the New York State boys indoor track and field championship meet this past weekend.
Justin Allone, a senior, qualified for the 3,200-meter run, turning out a time of 9:38 at the Section XI State Qualifier meet hitting the All-County standard.
This past Saturday at the state meet, Allone ran a personal best time of 9:33.5. This placed him No. 16 in the state and smashed the Sachem East indoor 3,200-meter time by four seconds.
Ariel Robinson, a sophomore, qualified to represent Section XI in the intersectional Relay event at the state meet.
With a commanding 200-meter leg, Adriel pushed the team from fourth to second within a 20 second window allowing the last leg of the Section XI relay to secure first place.
