Flaming Arrows improve to 6-1 after victory over Commack on special evening.
The Sachem North boys’ volleyball team hosted a Dig Pink match on Wednesday afternoon for breast cancer research and awareness.
“It gives us the opportunity to use teamwork to assist breast cancer research and show support for people with the disease,” said Sachem North coach Matt Rivera. “It is a great way to bring the young men in our program together to make a positive difference for a great cause.”
This year the game was held in support of Ellen Missry, the mother of Sachem alum and volleyball standout, Dylan Missry.
Coaches and fans wore pink tee-shirts, and there were balloons and banners, as well as pink tape on the court in honor of the occasion.
Sachem won the match against Commack, 3-0, and improved to 6-1 on the season.
