Shannon McEntee was recently appointed as Sachem’s new Assistant Athletic Director at the Board of Education meeting on July 5.
McEntee comes to Sachem from a teaching and coaching career in the Rockville Centre School District. For 11 years she was a teacher and coach and helped lead South Side High School to New York State championships in girls’ soccer, while also coaching basketball and softball.
“I am extremely excited to be part of the Sachem Central School District and community,” said McEntee. “The district and community members that I have met so far have been very welcoming and I am eager to continue building relationships within the district and community.”
McEntee played four years of soccer while attending Adelphi University, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
She fills the open spot left by John Carridi, who remains a Sachem administrator as an assistant principal at Sachem High School East.
On McEntee’s first impression of Sachem: “What stood out most is the tremendous pride the community has in furthering the development of their youngest members through education. This immediately drew me to wanting to be part of the district.”
