Sachem North alum Tom Haun, a freshman at Stony Brook University, has been named as the school’s Male Rookie of the Year recently during an end-of-year athletic awards ceremony.
Haun, an attackman on the lacrosse team, finished this season with 23 goals and 14 assists in 14 games.
He ranked third on the team in scoring and finished the year with seven multi-goal games this season, including a career-high four-goal game against Sacred Heart.
Haun was also an America East All-Rookie Team selection.
Stony Brook recently lost to Albany in the America East Conference tournament.
At Sachem, he was a four-year letter winner, All-County and a team captain.
