Sachem students participate in Brain Bee

This weekend three Sachem students participated in the 2017 Brain Bee Competition at Hofstra University Medical School. Sachem North Sophomore, Amy DeLury, placed third in this prestigious competition.

The International Brain Bee competition was founded in 1999 by Dr. Norbert Myslinski from the University of Maryland in order to motivate High School students to learn about the brain, and inspire them to pursue careers in neuroscience.

The Brain Bee competitions test students’ knowledge of the human brain including the topics of intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing, sensations, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, schizophrenia, epilepsy, depression, addictions and brain research.

A great job by all participants!
