Sachem North alum Kyle Rhatigan was selected in the 2017 Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Charlotte Hounds.
Rhatigan played at Limestone College. He graduated from Sachem in 2012 and joins a few other alumni who have also played in the MLL, including Doug Shanahan, Larry Faulkman and Vito DeMola.

Rhatigan was taken with the sixth pick in the 10th round in Wednesday’s Supplemental Draft. He will join the team for training camp in early April, and will look to make the team’s 25-man roster for the season opener against the Denver Outlaws on Saturday, April 22.
During his tenure in the Blue and Gold, Rhatigan helped guide the Saints to back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships in 2014 and 2015 and a national runner-up finish in 2016. He was twice named to the USILA All-American Team and was selected as the 2016 Lacrosse Magazine Division II Player of the Year after tying the program record with 100 points during his senior season.
He ranks second all-time in program history with 271 career points, third with 126 career assists, and sixth with 145 career goals. He matched Roger Vyse’s team record with 100 points during his senior campaign while becoming only the fourth player in school history to score 58 or more goals in a season.
Rhatigan was a three-time All-Conference Carolinas selection and twice earned Conference Carolinas Player of the Week. He was named the a USILA/Lids Team Sports Offensive Player of the Week after combining for 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) in wins against North Greenville and Seton Hill last year.
