A former Hansen Award winner who had an electric football career at Sachem High School North, Dalton Crossan finished up his college football career at New Hampshire this past weekend. He was a key contributor as a running back and on special teams as one of the top players in the Colonial Athletic Association over the last four seasons.
Crossan finished his career with 2,617 rushing yards, including 1,281 this season, good enough for the sixth most in a single-season in New Hampshire history.
As a senoir, he ranked third in the CAA in total rushing yards, second with a 152.1 all-purpose yard average, and third with 13 total touchdowns.
Crossan will turn his attention to New Hampshire’s pro day in hopes of catching the attention of NFL scouts prior to the NFL Draft and free agency in the spring.
He’ll look to be the first Sachem alum since Chris Manno, Class of 2003, to sign a contract with an NFL team, and the first since Jumbo Elliott, Class of 1983, to play in an NFL game (Doug Shanahan, Class of 1997, played in pre-season games with the Jets, and Manno played in pre-season with the Chiefs).
