Frank Panasci has worked in Sachem for 10 years, the first nine as Principal at Sequoya and is currently in his first year at Sagamore. He’s up for this week’s “Three Questions” feature …
*What were your goals entering the school year for your building, staff and students?
Frank Panasci: “This is my first year in Sagamore so I wanted to learn about the community and the school culture. From what I have experienced so far, it is a wonderful community with students who are committed to academic growth and service to community. We want to emphasize the literacy skills which will allow for success in all disciplines. Our goal is to provide enriching academic experiences within the classroom and opportunities to extend lessons outside of the classroom with field trips and invited speakers.”
*What kind of programs and new things have you been working on so far this school year?
FP: “We have enhanced communication through the website including daily announcements and upcoming events. We have started “Family Connect Night” which involves the first Wednesday of every month being homework free. We hope families will use this time to connect and communicate.”
*How special is it for you to work in the Sachem Central School District?
FP: “Sachem is such a wonderful community steeped in tradition of academic excellence, sportsmanship and a commitment to community service. As a graduate of Sachem, I feel honored to be a member of the Sachem learning community.”
