The ALS Ride for Life visited Merrimac, who raised more than $3,200 dollars to help find a cure.
Leah Pulitano, a third grade student from Ms. Gagnon’s class led the charge. She created fliers, and made announcements with her classmates. Her plan was to have students and teachers contribute spare change, since all donations (even pennies) make a difference.
Leah played a leadership role in the ALS assemblies to help spread the word along with Chris Pendergast. Mr. Pendergast has been battling the disease for more than 20 years. He is an inspiration to our Sachem community.
