The annual Chippewa PTA’s Zingo event was held recently. The PTA sponsored event was free to all Chippewa students and their families.
Children and adults alike competed at Bingo-like games with teachers reading out the winning combinations. Prizes such as movie theater gift cards, puzzles and iTunes gift cards were won throughout the two sessions.
While winning a game of Zingo is exciting, the students at Chippewa know that it is important to help those who are struggling with some difficult times.
To that end, the Chippewa PTA requested that each family bring a non-perishable food item to donate in lieu of an entrance fee for the event.
In less than four hours Chippewa families donated 115-pounds of non-perishable food items.
Chippewa’s social worker, Mrs. Cathy Spinelli, worked with Long Island Cares to organize a collection pick up the next day.
