Senior leadership was the story of the day as six different Seniors won their events to lead the Sachem East girls track and field team to a 112-38 victory over William Floyd in the Arrows League I season opener.
Dana Tyner won the 100 Hurdles (17.3), Sam LoCascio the 100 (13.5), Rachel Semetsis the 800 (2:44.3), Kaitlin Veigl the 3000 (11:24.0), Kristen Heuschneider the High Jump (4″8″), and Amanda Fitzgerald the Shot Put (34’11”). Junior Erin Leonard won the Discus (100′ 3″), Junior Emily Schatz the Triple Jump (30′ 10.75″), and freshman Ciara Gibaldi the Long Jump (15’2.25″).
Also turning in strong scoring performances were Skylar Papele, Lauren Alberg, Lindsey Dodenhoff, Ashley Accardi, Christina Artusa, Sam Piezzo, Shayna Arrigo, Margeret Atwood, Jordan Messineo, Steph Kwong, Alex Bergen, and Chelsea Benedict.
