The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are awarded to the most talented students across the nation. In 2016, nearly 320,000 works were submitted, and only the top 40% received recognition.
Two students from Sagamore were recognized for their poetry. Nina Matusiak was awarded two “Silver Keys” for two of her poems. Derek Umina got an Honorable Mention for his poem as well.
