For the first time in 16 years Sachem has won a boys bowling state championship.
The Flaming Arrows captured victory at AMF Airport Lanes in Cheektowaga, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon.
This marks the fourth state championship in school history having won titles in 1996, 1997, and 2000.
The program had been split following the 2004-2005 school year when the district added Sachem East. This was the first season, however, since 2004 that saw the program unified.
