Sachem North health educator Diane Miller was named as the Secondary Health Educator of the Year award at the Suffolk County Zone Awards held last month at Holbrook Country Club.
Miller has taught health education at Sachem for the past 31 years splitting time between Sachem North and the former Sachem South, now known as Samoset Middle School.
She has inspired many former students to go into health education, including current Sachem teachers Lori Hewlett and Colleen Cosgro.
