Sachem East alum Dennis O’Hara has been selected again as a team captain for the lacrosse squad at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.
O’Hara, in his senior year at Hendrix, ranks third in school history in wins and save percentage.
According to Hendrix, he has an 8.18 goals against average with 60 saves in 367 minutes in goal.
O’Hara was selected captain along with two teammates, Graham Marcus and Alex Ortenstone.
“The three young men we have selected are exemplary members of the Hendrix community, with academic excellence, community outreach and service, and strong leadership qualities,” said head coach Curt Foxx, in a statement. “We have found them to be the hardest workers at practice, in games, in the off-season, and in their academic and career endeavors. They not only lead by example, but have had the ability to motivate, inspire, and hold their teammates accountable. We look forward to continuing the positive trajectory they have established for us in the future.”
O’Hara isn’t the only member of his family making us proud as a student-athlete in college. His younger brother Conor is a wrestler at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
